Well, I hung this piece over the fireplace this morning before posting it just to see what I thought of it. The thing is that the painting captured what I wanted captured, but I feared it was too blah of a thing to be worth capturing. Close call, but on the whole, it works for me. But then I really like understated things.
I tried painting over the first version of this with a small brush and small brush strokes to see if I could add more interest and perhaps make it, dare I say it, more realistic. But that didn't work. I guess big brushes and big abstract strokes are what I'm supposed to paint. I'm fine with that.

Saw this in your collection Chuck, LoL reminds me of the Texas outback, far east or in our Central Plains where you can still find old farm houses and cattle strolling about barbwired fields, Tall oaks and Mesquite trees, though this looks more like Spring than Autumn, only the russet colors in the trees give it away! Like how the light pours through as well!
