During my morning walk I noticed that the white and red blossoms of a wild growing apple tree along the trail looked lavender in the light overcast light (and without my glasses on to pick up the details) and so we have today's painting with lavender blossoms. A typically understated painting of mine, but with rather cooler colors than I normally use.

Its great, though the splashes of white give
it the appearance of falling snow on the fields.

Snow! Heaven Forbid! No, no, the white is the dew on the grasses sparkling in the misty sunlight...that, at any rate is my story and I'm sticking with it...

Brilliant, love that colour.

Your work is beautiful. I wish I could hang some on my walls. Curious - do you paint with a brush or a knife?

Thank you. I use big, short and stubby flat brushes -- "brights" that tend to get worn down even shorter, so there is not a lot of brushiness in them... I usually add extra thick acrylic medium and flexible modeling medium to my brush and paint to get extra texture. Basically I don't have the training or touch to deal with long lush brushes and brush strokes and lots of detail -- I have more control with shorter bristle brushes and big brushes force me to avoid details I can't do anyways.

I wouldn't want you to put in detail! The colors and the atmosphere are beautiful enough, and the lack of detail is a big component. Thank you for replying. I might try out something similar.
