Most people like order. Back in the day when I was selling art I used to pay attention to places like ebay. I noticed that even abstract art buyers preferred abstractions that were ordered, structured and geometrical over organic or chaotic ones. I don't tend to be very neat or orderly in my paintings, but with the magic of masking tape, I can be both structured and chaotic. I'm just starting these experiments, right now I'm exploring how to use clear acrylic medium between layers of paint to get paintings that have both texture and a physical depth to them. (I've already learned to save the last coat of clear acrylic until after I've photographed them to reduce reflections.)
